“There's A Raven Waiting” invites listeners into a dreamlike landscape where symbols become messages and questions matter more than answers. Inspired by a chance encounter with a raven feather, the song unfolds as a meditation on curiosity, surrender, and the pull toward something greater than ourselves.

Musically, “There's A Raven Waiting” continues the intimate and organic production style that has become a hallmark of A Thousand Stars (to be released in 2026). Co-produced with Christian Turner at Mill Town Sound in Milton, Ontario, the song combines delicate acoustic instrumentation with atmospheric textures that allow Saxe's ethereal vocals and vivid storytelling to remain at the forefront.

Lyrics

I found a feather outside my door
Black and shiny blue
Effervescent hues
And that was the night I looked into the raven

I don't know why I found that feather
I don't know why I went deeper
All I know is I was pulled into the wind

There's a raven waiting at my door
With messages I haven't heard before
There's a full moon rising overhead
There's a raven waiting

Sometimes I hear it's voice
Like a secret language from the other side
Calling me into oblivion
There's a raven waiting

Searching through these shiny things
Through these mystical layers
Looking for answers
But all I know is I will never know

You're in the wind you say fly deeper
High in the sky you say surrender
You see through me into eternity

There's a raven waiting at my door
With messages I haven't heard before
There's a full moon rising overhead
There's a raven waiting

Sometimes I hear it's voice
Like a secret language from the other side
Calling me into oblivion
There's a raven waiting

Soaring mystery
Hidden locks, golden keys
Can we see what it sees?
Can we see what it sees?

There's a raven waiting at my door
With messages I haven't heard before
There's a full moon rising overhead
There's a raven waiting

Sometimes I hear it's voice
Like a secret language from the other side
Calling me into oblivion
There's a raven waiting
